The green miles

An environmental initiative that reduces mileage, carbon emissions and costs is proving a ‘home banker’ for TNT and some leading UK financial institutions.

The TNT-inspired ‘DRIVE’ project involves three of the largest high street banking groups sharing a TNT collection and delivery service as well as linehaul vehicles.

The programme, which is in the process of rolling out across the country, has so far slashed well over 1.5 million miles off the annual mileage – the equivalent of more than 3,000 tanks of fuel.

A further six TNT depots will be adopting what is known as the ‘two bank solution’, involving two of the largest high street banking groups, before the end of June.
