Electric news
TNT’s pioneering fleet of electric, battery-operated vehicles has been rolled out to serve some of TNT Records Management's most high-profile customers.
The new 3.5-tonne Smith Electric ‘Edison’ model – part of TNT’s fleet of 100 similar vehicles – will operate out of TNT’s Archive Centre in Beckton, East London. The vehicle, which has a maximum speed of 55mph, can travel for up to 60 miles before it’s batteries need recharging.
Karl Brender, Archive Centre Manager said; “This is brilliant news for Archive Services. TNT’s fleet of a hundred electric vehicles is the world’s largest in the express delivery sector, so it’s great that Archive Services is getting its own vehicle too.
“Our driver, Carl Davies, has been fully trained to drive the vehicle and I know is really looking forward to putting it through its paces in central London.”
The vehicle will serve some of TNT Records Management’s most high-profile customers in the City of London, including investment banks and insurance and legal firms.
